Obituary of Rosa Augusta Zilio

ZILIO, Rosa Augusta.
Passed away at the Guelph General Hospital on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the age of 93
years. Beloved wife of the late Angelo Zilio (2014). Loving mother of John, Rina Pigozzo (Tony)
and Dino (Sheri). Cherished Nonna of Olivia (Pietro), Elless, and Alex Pigozzo (Thea), Angelia
(Shawn), Stephen, Christopher and Sara Zilio. Survived by her sister Celestina Sfoggia.
Predeceased by her siblings Manuela Michelin (Bruno), Malia Cadorin (Luigi), Italo Semenzin
(Rita Donason), in-laws Bruno (Agnes), Emilio (Aurora), Rosina (Rito) and Marcella (Primo).
Rosa was a dedicated, loving, devoted mother and grandmother. She loved to be around her
grandchildren and family meals were of the upmost importance to her. She was always was
ready to welcome a last minute visitor. Her joy was to return to Italy to spend time with her
sisters, nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed riding her bike around the neighbourhood and
chatting with her friends. Her pastimes were spent cooking, baking (with her grandchildren)
gardening (loved her rose bushes) sewing, and playing scopa with friends and family.
Resting at the Brombal Funeral Home, 1 Delhi Street, Guelph on Wednesday, December 17,
2025, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held from St. John’s Parish, 45 Victoria
Road N., Guelph on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at
Marymount Cemetery.
