Obituary of Joel Scott

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Joel Scott, who left us peacefully on September 19, 2025, with his family by his side, at the age of 61.

Beloved son of Kathleen and Keith Scott. His greatest accomplishments and deepest source of joy were his children, Blake (Ainslie), Brandon (Jodi), Ally, and his grandson Cameron. He was predeceased by his loving partner, Sandra Cameron (2007), and will be forever remembered by his best friend of 47 years, Al Penn, who was like a brother to him.

Joel spent 29 years working with Owens Corning, creating lasting connections with the people around him. Outside of work, he was endlessly creative, artistic, and had a natural ability to make people laugh. Joel lived life to the fullest, he was the life of the party, always ready with a joke, a story, or a smile. His humour and energy lit up every room.

Above all else, Joel was an amazing father figure. He gave his children the tools to succeed in life and led by example with his grit, loyalty, and love. Joel will also be deeply missed by the countless friends he made. He was well-loved and always surrounded by people who cherished his company.

Joel’s spirit, creativity, and laughter will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of Joel’s life will be held at a later date. If so desired, donations may be made in his memory to the Free to Grow Program at the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington.
