Obituary of Robert Stuart Cutting
CUTTING, Robert Stuart
Passed peacefully with his family by his side at Hospice Wellington on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the age of 65. Beloved husband of Martha (née Roffey) for 45 years; loving father of Kendra, Wesley (Nicole), and Olivia (Brian) Sullivan; and proud Poppa of Oliver Sullivan. Robert was a cherished son to Valerie Krusky and the late Robert Cutting Sr., and a dear brother to Mike, Geoff (Alanna), Val (Doug), and Marty (Lisa). He will be fondly remembered by Jane Roffey (Gary Hill), Bill (Sandy) Roffey, and Greg Roffey (late Beverly); by his many nephews and all his extended family.
Robert loved his dogs—Padfoot, Zoe, and Louie—who will miss him deeply.
He was an avid member of the community, involved with organizations such as the Kinsmen Club of Canada, Scouts Canada, Friends of the Guelph Public Library, and Guelph Minor Hockey. He also participated in events such as the Eden Mills Writers' Festival. He was a very proud member of the Royal City Ukulele Ensemble.
Robert was a lifelong learner, earning his Master of Leadership from the University of Guelph. He was a passionate collector of many types of media and print.
He loved spending time at the cottage in Port Elgin with his lifelong friends, Nora and Eric. Many sunsets will be watched in his honour.
The family would like to thank all the excellent staff at Bayshore and Hospice Wellington for their care and support, as well as the family physician, Dr. Ahmad Al-Askar.
A celebration of life in Robert’s honour will be held at Cutten Fields on Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 2–4 p.m.
For those who wish, donations in Robert’s memory to Hospice Wellington or Cancer Society of Canada would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
