John Moretto of Guelph was born on January 28, 1955, and passed peacefully in his sleep on July 26, 2025.

John was a man of few words, but steady and devoted in every role he held as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was the devoted husband of Dale Moretto (nee McKersie), proud father to Sean (Beth), Amanda (Adam), and Dan (Amanda), and proud grandfather to four grandsons — Luca, Max, Finn, and Beau — who brought him great joy.

He was a dear brother to Ida (Doug), Dino (Louisa), and Diane (Brian), and is predeceased by his parents, Albino and Angelina Moretto, from whom he inherited his strong work ethic. His calm presence will be deeply missed.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the nurses from Bayshore Healthcare for their compassionate care. Private family interment will be held at Marymount Cemetery, Guelph. A celebration of John’s life will be held at the Guelph Country Club, 133 Woodlawn Road East, Guelph on Monday, August 18, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
