Obituary of Arnaldo Carlos

Arnaldo G. Carlos, P. Eng.

Passed away July 26, 2025 – Age 63

Arnaldo Carlos passed away peacefully at his home on July 26, 2025, at the age of 63.

Born in Manila, Philippines, Arnaldo was the youngest of six children of Emiliano Elias Carlos and Francisca Gatmaitan Carlos. At 18, he moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he graduated Electrical Engineering at the University of Manitoba and began his career at Federal Pioneer.

In May 1986, he married Penny Carlos (Paul and Trish). They later settled in Guelph, Ontario, where Arnaldo worked at ABB and eventually became a consultant. Arnaldo and Penny shared 35 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2022.

He was predeceased by his wife, Penny Carlos, and his brother, Edgardo G. Carlos.

He is survived by his siblings Rodrigo (Nellie), Wilfredo, Rebecca Cruz (Alfonso), and Danilo (Linda).

Arnaldo had a deep love for music, photography, and table tennis. In recent years, he took up biking to support the Tour de Guelph in memory of Penny, a cause close to his heart.

A memorial service will be held at the Brombal Funeral Home, 1 Delhi Street, Guelph, on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park. A reception will be held at the Evergreen Seniors Centre, 683 Woolwich Street, Guelph immediately following the interment.
