Janusz Boron

Obituary of Janusz Kazimierz Boron

Surrounded by his family Janusz passed away peacefully on June 28th, 2025, at the age of 78.

Janusz was born on January 2, 1947, in Trzebiatów, Poland, to Janina and Tadeusz. The second of two children, he spent his early years swimming, fishing and kayaking on the Rega River before his family relocated to Bolesławiec.

Following his service in the Polish Navy, Janusz attended post-secondary technical school, preparing for a career with BPB, Boleslawiec Construction Enterprise. It was there he met his wife, Michalina (née Puk), who worked in BPB’s urban planning department. They married on March 30, 1970, true to his love of the outdoors, beginning their adventure together with a honeymoon motorcycle road trip. In 1974, they welcomed their daughter, Anna.

In pursuit of better opportunities for his family, Janusz immigrated to Canada via Italy in 1986, first settling in Saskatchewan before making his home in Guelph, where he was reunited with Michalina and Anna. Janusz adapted to the challenges of a new country returning to school at Conestoga College to become a CNC machinist and lathe operator, a trade he practiced until his retirement. After the passing of his wife, he moved to Mississauga to be closer to his daughter’s family.

Janusz was a kind and generous man, always ready to lend a tool or a helping hand. He found joy in woodworking, building, reading, fishing, camping and travelling. He was a great opponent in ping-pong and in chess.  These were pursuits that he shared and nurtured in his grandsons, encouraging their curiosity and taking pride in their accomplishments.

Janusz was predeceased by his wife, Michalina, his parents, Janina and Tadeusz, and his sister, Elzbieta.  He is survived by his daughter, Anna, son-in-law, Peter Richardson and his grandchildren, Alexander and Kieran and a large extended family in Guelph and in Poland.
