Obituary of Eileen Estelle Mitton

We are heartbroken to announce that our mother passed away on June 10, 2025, in her 97th year. Predeceased by the love of her life, Edward Mitton (d. 1985). Married in 1953, they had known eachother since their childhood in Albert County, New Brunswick. Loving mother of Larry (d. 2013 Vickie d. 1990), Wendy and Michael. Grandmother of Todd (Nicole), Chad (Shannon), Scott (Kate), Jess (Scott) and Evan (Lily). Known as GG by her 10 adored great-grandchildren. Close friend of Sandra Collins, Bonnie Edwards and Patty Mugridge. She is survived by her beloved sister-in-law, Marion Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Leonard & Flossie Wilson and siblings, Vincent Wilson, Earl Wilson, Lois Lane, Nina Milburn and Sonny Wilson. Mom was widowed at age 56 and found the courage to face this transition and embrace life with a great deal of courage and strength. She learned to drive and got her driver's licence in her late 50's. After the tragic passing of her beloved daughter-in-law, Vickie, she found great purpose in life helping to care for her young grand-sons Todd and Chad. Her family and home were her greatest joys. You often found her doing puzzles, caring for her yard and plants, baking delicious treats or cheering on her favourite team - The Toronto Maple Leafs. Mom was known for her quick wit, sassy banter and her sharp memory. Mom, we will miss you forever and take strength knowing you had a full, long and healthy life and knowing how much you loved and cared for us. We know you are with Dad and Larry now, at peace and free of pain. Our family wishes to extend our deepest thanks to staff at The Elliot Community for their kind and compassionate care of our mother.
