STEVENSON, John Fred “Jack”.
Jack, quietly and peacefully went to be with His Lord, with family at his side at Hospice Wellington on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the age of 92 years. He was 11 days short of reaching his 93rd Birthday.
Beloved husband of the late M. Eileen Stevenson (nee Pharoah). Loving father of Bob (Brenda), late Audrey (1955), Jeanette Molnar (Les), Debbie Ferringo (Joseph), Cheryl Davis (Andy), Bruce (Sara-Lynn), Brian(Rita) and Murray (Charlene). Cherished grandfather of Rob (Sarah), Coreena (Greg), Alicia (Brian), Suzanne (Travis), Jordan (Natalie), Christopher (Missy), Mallory (Brandon), Simon, Scott (Olivia), Josh (Jamie), Trevor, Jason (Autumn), Justin (Ashley), Adam (Rebecca), Jordan and Taylor. He loved being a great grandfather to 21 great grandchildren. Dear brother of siblings Betty Van Pypen (late Neil), Ken (Vera), Brenda Vair (Peter), late Ron (late Mary), and late Albert (Sheila).
Jack lived on a farm in Puslinch. He worked many years at the University of Guelph dairy farm. He always found time for his family and enjoyed playing games of soccer, hockey, cards and watching the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team. He moved to Riverside Glen in 2016 where he lived for almost 9 years. He was a very active resident and proudly served as an ambassador welcoming newcomers. He was also known as the “Candy Man” since he always had a bowl of candies out for the staff in his room as well as a pouch full in his walker to share. He attended Calvary Baptist and Royal City Baptist in Guelph, ON
The Stevenson family will receive relatives and friends at Calvary Baptist Church, 454 Arkell Rd, Puslinch, ON N0B 2J0, Saturday, May 31, 2025. Visitation is from 9am to 11am followed by a funeral service and reception to follow. Interment will be held at Crown Cemetery, Puslinch ON.
Family wishes to thank Dr. David Hood, the Staff of Riverside Glen, Guelph General Hospital 7th Floor, and Hospice Wellington for the wonderful care and love he received.
