Obituary of Jose "Joe" Dutra
DUTRA, Jose “Joe” Luis
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, who passed peacefully at Grand River Hospital on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025 at the young age of 68. Beloved husband of the late Debra Dutra (d. 2014); missed by former spouse Lucia Dutra; loving father of Cynthia (Jeff) Sousa, Angela (Aaron) Baldwin, Matthew (Amber) Dutra, and Michael (Savanna) Dutra; proud grandfather of Tiago, Enzo, Olivia, Harrison, and Adaline; and dear brother of Maria “Connie” (late Fernando) Silveira, Antonio (Fatima) Dutra, late Maria “Bernadette” (John) Scott, Isidro (Isabel) Dutra, Manny (Fatima) Dutra, Elisa (Eliseo) Giralt, Aida (Mark) Carew, Jorge Dutra and Gina (Peter) Maurer.
Joe was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life—tending to his garden, caring for his yard, and taking peaceful walks through nature. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his daily ritual of enjoying his Tim’s coffee, which he always looked forward to. Joe graduated from Conestoga College and became an industrial electrician which was something he was very proud of. He was known for his expertise and his ability to fix almost anything. A true jack of all trades. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He had a kind heart, a gentle spirit, and a deep appreciation for the world around him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his family, who were fortunate to share in his love for life. Rest in peace, Dad.
